The permission to obtain earth and stone, from the end of Mount, Cochrane which belonged to the Colonial Government affected the value of Kowloon Marine Lot 49 to such an extent that it was sold for $70,000 the upset, price being$41,250.

The strip of land coloured green, which the Military Authorities stipulate should be left open, is not. from its shape adopted for large buildings. It will give a auch needed air space in what is fast becomming a very crowded locality, too few of such spaces having been reserved in the past.
